Findlay Creek is a growing community, and I am working to make it a complete community where people can find what they need close to home. From local businesses and services to community events and neighbourhood connections, a lot is happening as Findlay Creek continues to grow.

I returned to Council in 2022 to deliver the ward's first major recreation complex, now we are closer than ever to this facility becoming a reality. It will feature a swimming pool, hockey rinks, sports fields, and other important recreational amenities.

The City is working to complete the Bank Street widening project. This $50 million investment in our community has widened this important corridor from 2 to 4 lanes, replaced underground water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure, and implemented sidewalks and bike lanes throughout.

The City is finalizing the design for the Bank and Leitrim intersection that will bring major upgrades to this important intersection. I will advocate to secure construction funding for this project in the 2027 budget to start construction as soon as possible.

I have a plan to deliver the ward's first healthcare hub, on surplus City property in the northern part of Findlay Creek. The Gloucester Seniors Centre building is set to be demolished and this presents an opportunity to bring healthcare options to Findlay Creek.

I led a visioning exercise to see what was possible for surplus City property near Fred Barrett Arena. This could include additional recreation to be able to host recreation programming in Findlay Creek, and also a possible library branch with the Ottawa Public Library.

The City continues to invest in keeping our local streets safer through temporary and permanent traffic calming measures. I will continue to support investments in road safety for local families and students.

I supported the hiring of over 200 additional police officers for enhanced police enforcement and community safety. At the same time, I supported the development of a new South District Police Station near Riverside South that will anchor the new South District.

I advanced a pathway that will connect Findlay Creek residents to the train at Leitrim Station. This will allow pedestrians and cyclists to access the train easier.

Since 2022, the community has seen 2 elementary schools open, and there are two additional French elementary schools currently under construction. The City is fast-tracking the planning for these schools to bring education options to the community.

I will continue to support bringing new parks for the community. As our community continues to grow, parks and recreation options must keep up and that is why I am advancing the Southeast Ottawa Recreation Complex that will deliver major recreational amenities for Findlay Creek.

I will continue supporting responsible budgets that keep property taxes low, while finding efficiencies. Over the last four years, the City has identified over $250 million in savings.
